Joshua 1:5
Wednesday, September 1st, 2010No one will be able to stand up against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you.
No one will be able to stand up against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you.
O Father in heaven,
Hallowed be Thy name.
Thy kingdom come,
Thy will be done,
On earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
And forgive our sins,
As we forgive those who sinned against us.
Do not bring us to the time of trials,
But deliver us from evil.
As the kingdom, the glory, and the power are yours,
Now and forever.
Amen.
Heard about the New World Order? Have any thoughts on it? What do you know about 9/11? Watch this and find out.
Last thursday, dumb dumb msged me on msn for a last minute job at her previous guardian’s daughter’s company(long relationship eh
) at like, 2 am, when the meeting time was 9 am. It was still money, so I just accepted the job. Couldn’t sleep through the night, so ended up not sleeping at all.
So I met Tiffy at 8 at tampines mrt, then Jeremy at orchard mrt. One thing I have to say is that people who have no sense of direction at all gets on my nerves man. Thank God for the patience he gave me, because what with the weather being so hot and all, I was really getting grumpy. We finally reached the building, Tourism Court, after a huge loop that we made walking from the bus-stop. Fast forward to near lunch time, we were still doing the boring job of making the speedpost boxes, packing 2 magazine cartons inside, and then sealing them up. The management was really terrible! We had to paste the labels they printed on it, as well as the invoice, which totalled like 4 things to stick on, and as they gave us the papers quite late, so we ended up doing 3x the job instead of all at once. Worst of all, she gave us some stick for dillying a tad too much. I have to agree though, we won’t working at 100% efficiency. Tiff had alrady warned us of her temper, so it was quite expected. It still sucked though. Tiff got pulled away making more stupid cartons, while me and Jeremy went on with the labelling.
Nearing 12, we all started feeling hungry, but then we had to continue with the job as it had to be completed within the day. One of the staff “volunteered” to help us buy, as they were going to eat as well. The chicken rice wasn’t half bad, though it could have been better of course. By then, I was mentally exhausted, because i had had no sleep whatsoever. Nevertheless, we presevered on, till about 3 when the invoice finally came. Of course, we didnt know we had to stick it on as well, which made us all the more peeved.
Nearing the end, Tiff’s previous guardian(I suppose, as he seem fatherly to me
) came to check on us. We were quite tired out by that time, so he asked us whether we were tired. Naturally, we replied yes. What he said to us was really what got me thinking and blogging about this event. He said something like, “You know, actually it’s not really physical tiredness. Do you know what it is?”. Instantly, it came to me. Mental tiredness. Of course, it hit me because I was really mentally shagged. I replied him, and after a little more long winded chattering to us, he left. (By the way, the coffee they serve is really fragrant! Illy’s brand I think it is. The pantry is like 2 corridors away, and from where we were packing the boxes, I could smell it. Thank God for the serving auntie who offered to make me some. God bless her soul.
)
I didn’t ponder much about this until just a while ago, while watching endurance sports studies on discovery channel. It’s all about your mental strength, isn’t it? Anything you do in this world, as long as you think you can achieve it, it’s like 70% completed. You just have to put in a little more effort and whatever your aim is will be done. Mental strength can really bring you far. I guess after thinking back on the times I have thrown in the towel, and of course also about when others have gave up before the event was done, it was all mainly just about their mind, isn’t it? Put your mind to it, and you’re already nearly there. It’s really something people can ponder about, and then make up their minds on whether they should train their mind to do it or not. Great things can be accomplished just with the strength of the mind. I hope the readers have gotten what I am trying to get to. Train your mind, and think of what you can accomplish with the power of your mind.
The lesson learnt here, is worth much much more then the miserable $30 we each earned. They deducted our pay, because in the end the staff had to help us pack the boxes. I felt and still do feel that she is quite the stingy person, not that I’m making a fuss over it or what. It’s just a few more dollars, out of the hours of work we put in, I’ld say we can expect more, especially because it’s manual labour. Anyway, I have to thank that Uncle(I totally didnt hear his name, sorry about it.
) for the lesson he thought me. ![]()

Unhappiness in relationships, according to Dr. Gary Chapman, is often due to the fact that we speak different love languages. Sometimes we don’t understand our partner’s requirements, or even our own. We all have a “love tank” that needs to be filled in order for us to express love to others, but there are different means by which our tank can be filled, and there are different ways that we can express love to others.
